Let’s take care of ourselves as we begin this New Year.
What can you do for YOURSELF that will bring you JOY?
Here are some ideas: Walk around your neighborhood, say hello to the sun, read a good book, write, spend time in nature, meditate, exercise, bike ride, get a good night's sleep, gather flowers, listen to music, participate in a community activity, drink water, join a club, take a class, stretch your body, your mind, and your soul. Do any of these resonate with you?
Ideally, allowing yourself at least 5-10+ minutes a day for self-care WILL help you reduce stress and feel better! Consider setting up a weekly plan to provide self-care 3 or 4+ times weekly. Reward yourself with something FUN when you succeed.
Hartshill Health Centre in the United Kingdom describes 7 pillars of self-care: mental, emotional, physical, environmental, spiritual, recreational, and social. Try to incorporate these components into your self-care adventure.
This year, I decided to start my day by swimming. As I was driving home, relaxing, and thinking about writing this article, the radio started playing Harry Chapin’s song Sunday Morning Sunshine. Bring sunshine into your life by taking care of awesome YOU!
The next song was Whole Lotta Love. Give yourself permission to love yourself by participating in activities that help you feel good. Have FUN paying attention to the synchronicities in life that support your self-care plans. |

REIKI at the UPCOMING
AOTA ANNUAL CONFERENCE!
I am delighted to teach Reiki, a natural energy healing modality, for the 8th time in a row at every in-person AOTA Annual Conference since 2015!
Learn how to access your body's healing energy in just 1 day! Discover how to help clients, family, friends, colleagues, pets, and even plants grow and heal.
The 2024 AOTA INSPIRE Annual Conference is being held in Orlando, FL, from Wednesday, March 20 (Pre-Conference Institute day) through Sunday, March 24, 2024.
Reiki Level I, Institute 020, is when your healing energy becomes activated. You discover the history, philosophy, and techniques to use Reiki for self-care and to help others heal. First, you learn to give yourself Reiki, and then you provide Reiki to 3 different partners on a 1 to 1 basis. You discover how to access your own healing energy after just one day of training.
Reiki Level II, Workshop 110A, and Workshop 110B are when you understand why and how Reiki works. Learn additional hand placements and long-distance healing, expand your intuitive skills, and discover supplemental modalities that work well with Reiki. Three 1 to 1 experiential sessions with 3 different partners occur. Sound Healing is provided during both Reiki Level I and Reiki Level II.
Reiki Level I is taught on Wednesday, March 20th (the first half day of spring) from 12-6:30 pm. A Reiki Level I certificate in the Usui form of Natural Energy Healing is provided upon completing this 6.0 contact hour training.
Reiki Level II occurs on Thursday, March 21 from 8-11:00 am and 2:45-5:45 pm. Attendees must complete both morning and afternoon sessions to receive a Reiki Level II certificate in the Usui form of Natural Energy Healing for 6.0 contact hours.
Taking both Reiki Level I and Reiki Level II is my recommended way to learn Reiki. Yet, if you are only able to attend Reiki Level I, that is totally fine.
Taking Reiki Level I and/or Reiki Level II is a great way to refresh your skills if you received Reiki training in the past. Come learn the latest scientific research and documentation techniques by attending Reiki at the AOTA Annual Conference!
If you are not an OT practitioner, student, researcher, or educator, you are welcome to attend by purchasing a one or two-day conference pass.
Come join me and receive early-bird registration prices through February 28, 2024, by registering now!
Learning Reiki is an excellent self-care activity that facilitates self-healing and assists others in helping themselves heal. |

GENEALOGY and ANCESTRAL HEALING
Have you ever been curious about Ancestral Healing? Is there something in your past that needs healing?
Our life is "woven together from countless generations," according to Bernadette Thompson. When we experience grief or a significant loss, our ability to navigate through life becomes challenged.
Ancestral Healing is understanding and releasing inherited wounds and traumas passed down by our ancestors, helping you clarify who you are today. Many of your ancestors faced grief and loss, but as you learn more, you will discover, in this process, their resilience in the face of those traumas. Their stories are a part of you. You will feel the connection, and it will help you recognize what has been passed down to you.
Consider exploring your ancestry with a FREE Tell Me Our Story 30-minute session with the esteemed genealogist Bernadette Thompson. Experience Bernadette's wise and friendly ancestral navigation process.
Sign up to receive the joy of understanding your ancestral history, helping to bring comprehension and healing into your life!

SMILE and GREET PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS
It amazes me how a smile combined with a simple hello can bring joy into our lives and the lives of others.
Smiling elevates our mood while relaxing our body and reducing stress.
Being kind and sharing a smile is a marvelous way to stimulate self-care. Heartfelt appreciation is facilitated when receiving a genuine smile. Smiling helps us stay positive as we maneuver throughout the day.
Smiling and Kindness are marvelous collaborators. Share a smile. Extend the kindness of a smile to yourself and others.
Know you are very LOVED and very appreciated. Smile!
Thank you for being a marvelous part of our life here on Earth.
Sending you lots of LOVE always and forever,
